Carolina Elite Eagle Lawrence Smith
Carolina Elite Eagle Lawrence Smith turns double play

What we areCarolina Elite Baseball was founded in 2006 by former East Carolina University player and coach, James Molinari. Our mission is to teach our young players the game of baseball at the highest level. Starting the very first day your child joins Carolina Elite Baseball, they will learn youth baseball at a professional level. Our players learn how to do all things on the baseball field through their own reaction, without having a coach tell them when to run on a steal, or where to throw the ball on a defensive play. In practice, we focus on giving each player the skills and tools necessary to make those decisions, and to empower them to feel confident during a game to react to what they see. Waiting to hear a coach tell you when to run, where to throw the ball, or what to do on the field may help minimize mistakes today, but it will hinder your development as a ballplayer in the future.

Looking to the futureAs players advance to higher levels of baseball, the competition continues to get stronger. The best players at age 12 are often out of baseball entirely by age 18. This is because they have relied solely on their athletic ability at a young age, and have never developed the skills necessary to compete at a higher level when the athletic field catches up to them. Carolina Elite Baseball is committed to giving our players the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure that your child is the most prepared youth, middle school, and high school ballplayer. For the ballplayers that are interested in playing beyond high school, there is no baseball teaching organization in the area that will better prepare you to try and earn that opportunity.

A different approach…Our approach is very unique in the world of youth baseball. We are not a “win-at-all-costs” organization. We are an organization that values developing the individual player’s potential through a team concept. We see practices and games as a tool to teach the game, not as a prize to be won. The reward in this game has always been the journey, and never the destination.

Most importantIt is a far more rewarding experience to see one of our players have an opportunity to use this great game on the field, to better themselves as a person off of the field. A great man taught me this, and I am honored to have an opportunity to carry on his legacy, and try to have a fraction of the impact on our players that he had on me. Thank you, Coach.
