I do not have a team hitting philosophy. As a coach, you must adjust your philosophy according to the strengths and weaknesses of your team. Is your strength speed, power, contact, etc? If you have big guys that can hit, then it makes sense to take an aggressive approach into that batter's box, and try to beat teams by out-slugging them - I have a few teams that are built this way. If you have a bunch of smaller guys that can run, but aren't all that powerful in the batter's box, then it makes sense to try and work counts, and take a more "pest-like" approach into the box. These players aren't going to out-slug you like the bigger guys are, but they can do more damage once on base, so working counts, and drawing walks are more valuable when your team is built this way.

to the other team through putting runners in motion, using the bunt, or the hit and run. That works great in close games, because you can afford to trade outs to advance runners. If you fall behind by more than a couple runs, however, you can no longer afford to play this way. Outs become more valuable than advancing runners when you are behind by multiple runs. With this in mind, my hitting philosophy is to score more runs than the other team, and to utilize the talent available to give ourselves the best chance to do that!!!
