11u Rays gearing up for 2011!

The 11u Rays are gearing up for 2011 after an impressive 2010 campaign. The Rays finished 2010 very strong, placing 1st or 2nd in 3 of their final 4 tournaments. The Rays will combine the 10 players currently on their roster, with a couple of the younger 11u Titan players to create a solid roster. One of the goals going into this season will be to create more competition within the Rays own roster, something I think was lacking this past fall. The lack of "perceived" competition within their own roster I believe led to some complacency amongst the players, which led to a decrease in their on the field productivity. This fall players will be challenged not only by me, but also by the other members of the team for playing time, and I'm looking forward to seeing which players embrace that competition, and use it as a motivating factor (and not an excuse to blame someone else if they're not playing).

You are eligible to join the Rays if you were born on, or after May 1, 1999. As with all Carolina Elite Baseball teams please disregard roster size. Attendance is optional at all our tournaments, and so the actual traveling roster is almost always smaller than what you see listed on the website due to players missing tournaments due to schedule conflicts. Moreover, this entire program is about learning to compete, and even if there is a large roster at a particular tournament your son will have an opportunity to earn his time and make it onto the field - the rosters are never closed!!!
